Description
This free spin rear axle bearing is available in three options; Regular, Premium and Ceramic. The Standard is a nice bearing and will work fine for most applications. However the Premium is a Japanese made bearing and is more precise allowing for less friction. The ceramic are hands down the smoothest and will allow your axle to spin more freely than anything else on the market. The Ceramic bearings are however more prone to maintenance. We typically use the premium bearings on most our installations.
We recommend to clean and lubricate the bearings once a month. Because these are free spin bearings they do not require grease so cleaning can be done with brake cleaner. Be sure to lubricate the bearings afterwards with either Tri Flow or Remington gun oil. When installing the bearing the cassette has two notches in it and the bearing will fit right in there. Drop it in 90 degrees to the hole, then turn 90 degrees and it should be set in there. DO NOT PRESS THE REAR AXLE BEARING INTO THE CASSETTE.
